RMO Productions are experienced in productions of  operas; opera gala evenings, musicals, concerts, plays and dramatic readings.

 

All full productions/concert performances are costumed with make-up and lighting and can be performed indoors or outdoors. The productions are very much tailored to the performance venue. Everything is put in place to ensure a 'complete' evening of Theatre which you the customer will never forget. It will be a totally special eveningfor you, catering for your needs only as it can be as large or small event as you desire.

ROBIN MARTIN-OLIVER - Director

Studied at Royal Northern College of Music graduated with honours in performance: singing and acting. Won 2nd Prize in the International Singing Competition in s'Hertogenbosch Holland. Has sung major roles with Glyndebourne Opera, Welsh National Opera, Royal Opera House, Handel Opera, Karlsruhe Opera, Buxton Festival Opera, Birmingham Opera, including many TV and Radio recordings and an appearance in Trevor Nunn's film 'The life of Lady Jane Gray'.

Assistant directing: Scottish Opera / La Belle Helena, Maria Stuarda, Hansel and Gretel, Katya Kabanova, Il Trovatore and Fidelio, which opened the Edinburgh Festival. Assistant and co-director on Welsh National opera's new production of Yeoman of the Guard which toured to Covent Garden and Glimmerglass Opera in New York. Glyndebourne Festival, assistant director: Cosi; Marriage of Figaro; Seraglio.  Assistant to Sir Peter Hall on a new production of Simon Boccanegra which Robin later revived for the BBC Proms and For Channel Four Television.

Director: Grace Williams one act opera The Parlour; l'Elisir d'Amore; Tosca; Magic Flute; Otello; Rigoletto; La Boheme; Russalka; Eugene Onegin; Il Trovatore; Cosi fan Tutti; La Belle Helena; Marriage of Figaro.

Own company productions: Marriage of Figaro; Eugene Onegin; Don Pasquale; Don Giovanni (also for Glasgow Mayfest); La Traviata; Cosi fan Tutte; Merry Widow; La Boheme; The Saint of Bleecker Street; La Belle Helena; Dance of Carmen; Madame Butterfly; l'Elisir d'Amore. Musicals: Oliver, Jack (own composition); J C Superstar; Godspell. Plays and readings: Christmas Carol; Amahl and the Night Visitors; Family Reunion.

Own writing: Too Hot to Handel; Carry on Gilbert and Sullivan; House of Dolls, Jack (musical)

Productions for the Edinburgh Festival: Lets Kick Mrs Worthington; Lunch; Floating; Mrs Worthington's Secret Heart;  Purgatory.

Future productions: Master Peter's Puppet Show.

Robin also gives one to one singing lessons; stagecraft/drama tuition and runs five part-time Performing Arts Schools for young students between the ages of 4-18yrs.
